Coconut Secret Products Giveaway {Raw, Vegan and Gluten-Free}

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Hi folks! I quikly post this as I wait to board  my flight to Colorado. I am not one that has so much time that I can prepare posts in advance but any chance I get I try to post. I always have plenty of ideas to post, it is just finding the time to do it. ANYWAY, my quick post today will include one of my newest and favorite products I have had a chance to enjoy over the last few months.

Coconut Secret, as you can guess focuses on coconut products, and it started with the owners trying to develop or find a similar sugar substitute like agave nectar that also had a lower glycemic rate. They offer 5 different products that are either tapped from the coconut blossoms or is from unheated coconut meat. Here are the products they offer: (Read more info on each product through their website)
These are probably my favorite raw product to use in the kitchen so far and have used it in many recipes like the following:
Lime Cream Parfaits w/ Coconut Lime Crumble

Apple Dumplings w/ Coconut Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (Gluten-free)
I use the crystals in my tea and coffee and I use the Coconut Vinegar in salad dressings because it is similar to Apple Cider Vinegar. There are so many options with these products.

The company has been really nice enough to offer my readers to try TWO of their products. How generous!! Please visit their Coconut Secret's website or check out my shop tab and purchase some products if you cannot wait to try this product. I have a bundle deal in my shop, so check it out!

Only requirement:

Tell me your favorite coconut recipe and / or leave me a recipe link or even tell me which product you would like to try.

Tweet this message: " Coconut Secret product giveaway (nectar, flour, vinegar) @singerinkitchen for a unique #raw #glutenfree eats http://bit.ly/92qjuS #veganmofo "

I will use Random.org to choose a winner. Entrie due by Monday, November 15th by midnight EST.

I will announce the winners on Tuesday, November 16th.  Sorry, only open to USA. :(

I have never tried baking with coconut oil bc I am really on a tight budget and can't afford anything nonessential. But I am a big vegan baker and I'd love to try it in my cupcakes and cookies! :)

What a great giveaway! To tell you the truth, I haven't cooked or baked much with coconut, but I do splurge from time to time and buy young coconuts. So far that is my favorite way of having them - raw and fresh (well as fresh as that can be in the US!).

Tulika 10:02 AM

I love coconut everything! I try to use coconut oil as much as I can, but I must say that my favorite coconut recipe so far has been coconut and chocolate crepes (whole wheat crepes with coconut butter/melted dark chocolate fudge filling). Yum!

Leinana 10:17 AM

Oooh, I've really been wanting to try their coconut vinegar & aminos! I thought the coconut vinegar would have been a perfect addition to my "Mess O' Beans & Greens" dish that I made recently. It's made with coconut milk but I though the coconut vinegar would have added a nice hit of acidity. http://vegangoodthings.blogspot.com/2010/11/mess-o-beans-greens-southern-asian.html

Enjoy your trip!

I really want to try the coconut aminos! I don't cook with coconut oil as much as I should, but your coconut lime parfaits look so good that they've got my vote! I'll be sure to RT your post :)

Ana 3:37 PM

Wow, this sounds so great, I am a huge coconut fan! I grew up in Brazil and miss drinking coconut water directly from the coconut itself tremendously. I love coconut water, and I love coconut butter!
One of my favorite combinations is coconut and chocolate, and one of my favorite ways to eat coconut butter is on top of warm oatmeal. It melts in there and makes everything taste amazingly good! (a few chocolate chips makes it even more delectable!)
I would love to try any of these products, but the coconut crystals really caught my attention!

Have a wonderful time in Colorado...I miss home! And I love making coconut cupcakes. So very good!

lilly63 4:58 PM

I use coconut milk for a lot of things, but that's the extent of my coconut use. I am so excited to make the apple dumplings you posted. They look wonderful! I think I'll add a little crystallized ginger to the mix, just for some extra zing. If I win, I'd love to try the Coconut crystals.

bitt 5:01 PM

I would love to try the coconut nectar. I've used the coconut sugar in my chocolate and it's delicious.

OMG I've seen several people post recipes recently using the crystals and the nectar so I want those sooooo bad.

I love using coconut oil in lots of things but it really makes yummy raw vegan chocolate.

I'm off to retweet this now. I'm ambercat_13 on Twitter. :)

I just had the yummiest raw macaroons the other day made only with shredded coconut, maca powder, and agave nectar. It magically tasted buttery -- I can't wait to try that using coconut nectar instead!
I do use coconut palm sugar in my kitchen but I get it at Whole Foods -- I'd love to try this brand since they say it's raw.

I love adding coconut milk to risotto, depending on the other ingredients. It works great with spicy ones, most especially this one from the ppk: http://www.theppk.com/2007/10/chili-pumpkin-cranberry-risotto-with-spicy-toasted-pumpkin-seeds/

I use cocnut milk almost as often as I use soymilk, so it's probably my favorite coconut product.

My favorite things to make with coconut is coconut milk ice cream, or green curry.

Honestly, every single one of those products sound interesting and incredible. And I've only heard of coconut flour and coconut vinegar. I would love to try them all!o
