UliMana Review {Raw Treats}
Thursday, October 07, 2010
This past week I had the pleasure of trying out some raw truffles that were delicious. Sometimes I do not have time to be making specialy treats for that occasional indulgence, but this one is a very healthy one.
UliMana started up in 2005 and specializes in making all their truffles with organic chocolate (cacao) and are all raw, vegan and organic. Who could ask for anything more?
Here is a better description:
Made with raw organic ingredients such as raw cacao powder, agave or honey, cacao butter, vanilla beans and Celtic Sea Salt, these delectable raw treats are as healthy as they are delicious! Cacao is rich in antioxidants, magnesium and phenylethylamine (PEA), also known as the "love" chemical. (see health research on raw chocolate) PEA is a natural mood elevator and helps with focus. Agave nectar is the low-glycemic sweetener recently recommended as the 'healthiest sweetener' by Dr. Mehmet Oz on the Oprah Winfrey show.
I was able to sample two of their flavors and here is what I thought.
Chia Moon Drops are sweetened with Coconut Nectar and are made with coconut oil, cashews, dates and more. The flavor is decadent. I have never really been a truffle consumer, but these were delicious and I could only take 2 small bites because I REALLY wanted to enjoy each bite. It took me several days just to enjoy ONE truffle. I might be crazy but I like it like this.
Dark Cacao Truffles are exactly how they are described, DARK. I am a dark and bitter chocolate eater so this was SO delicious and hit the spot when a chocolate craving. The thing is that this is a healthy chocolate craving with no additional crazy ingredients that are not natural. This one is made with cacao butter, agave nectar and other ingredients. Very tasty all together.
Go check out UliMana's website and peruse their other flavors which include Harvest Nectar,Coconut Nectar, Mayan Truffles, Cacao Nib, and Hemp truffles and order some today!

Yum, who could say no to truffles!
I think I ought to come up with a signature truffle recipe for myself...now that I'm going to be...a chef! :-O
Coconut nectar sounds so good! I'm really enjoying raw food bars and treats...so I bet that these would be delicious. Thanks for sharing!
Those bars look delicious and healthy. I love it! :)

OMG--I LOVE truffles--but RAW and a mood elevator to boot? I'm hunting some of these down! Yum!
You lucky girl! Those truffles look so good, especially the dark cacao ones.
I agree with Monet - coconut nectar sounds like it would be my favorite!
Wow, if it takes that long to enjoy a truffle - and they're as tasty as you say - they might really be worth their price tag! I'll have to give them a go ;)
